Download the latest version of PC Suite (I MEAN LATEST) and Nokia Software Updater (LATEST!) on your local Nokia Website and install.

Once that's done, connect your 6300 via USB on 'PC Suite Mode' (a miniUSB to USB cord should work because no USB connector is included). Then, if PC Suite detected your phone and is stable enough (meaning drivers are installed) then you can now open Nokia Software Updater to begin updating.

Note that you should BACK UP the files in both Memory Card and Phone Memory using the Back Up Application in Nokia PC Suite. Also, not all phones have updatable firmware (software).
