Can you turn the predictive text off with a HTC Sense keyboard?

Can you turn the predictive text off with a HTC Sense keyboard?Eg HTC Legend. I am looking at getting one.

But ive tryed the phone and cant seem to find if you can turn the predictive text off? I prefer to spell my own :D
