Will verizon let me activate a phone given to me by my cousin?if my cousin gives me a phone (an HTC touch pro) will verizon let me activate it as my phone for free?
i already have the Verizon XV 6900 and im almost half way to my new every two thing.

if its not a verizon phone then you can't use it, and idk if they charge you for activation at all but everytime i do it i use another family members upgrade then i switch the number over. they should be able to transfer your number from your old phone to your new one without any problem you have to call *611 and talk to an operator.

If it's a Verizon-branded phone, you will be able to activate it. If it is a Sprint-branded phone, you will not. Verizon only allows Verizon branded phones on its network.
There will be an activation fee.
