Quad-band doesn't mean 3G compatible, they are different things. However the HTC hero has 3G, so I don't see a reason why it wont work. You should have no problems

I don't know about the Quad Band,3g Plan.In generally i am saying this "Unlocked mobile you can use any network sim card that support by the mobile phone,You can use the AT&T sim card in HTC HERO mobile if it accepts means use otherwise no..If you need to unlock the HTC HERO mobile means you can use the unlock code.In the site http://www.onlinegsmunlock.com/unlock-your-phone/rs7wp2/ you can purchase the unlock code at low cost.
