How to activate this phone I purchased from Ebay?I purchased a HTC Wildfire from Ebay and didn't realize it wasn't covered under the GSM network . So I was wondering if I would be able to activate it under the phone company that made the phone ? If so , how to go about doing this ? Will it be a problem to activate it since I didn't purchase it from their retail ?
The phone is apart of Cox Mobile .

It shouldn't be a problem to activate it. If it's Verizon you can call the help number (Can't remember it off the top of my head) and they will help put it on a plan and activate it for you.. Other than Verizon I can't tell you how it works.

For the most part you have to have current service in your name with the company you want t o use ( Verizon, AT&T, t-mobile. etc). if you do simply take it to a retailer and let them know that you would like service on the device. it should not matter which company originally contracted the device. if you do chose to go with the original retailer they will know in better detail the steps necessary. either way you will need service. You will not be able to call any help line with the phone since the sim card should have been wiped.

You can use it on any network by unlocking it. There are several services that online that can do this, will send an unlock code for you and you just need to do a search. You can also visit forums that share information about these things.
