Apparently the Merge is not going to be released on Verizon. It was planned to be released as a Verizon phone, but Verizon instead gave it to Alltel, which is actually owned by Verizon. It was just released this month on that network. The only two phones that are showing as as set for release this year are the htc thunderbolt (sometime midyear) and the iphone 4 (towards the end of february), but neither of them have slideout keyboards, according to cnet.
