How much will a little water damage affect a phone?I have a HTC Arrive and when I was at prom, my phone was in my jacket pocket. During prom, my phone turned off and I looked at the water stickers and they were pink. However, the phone still works and it seems to be running fast still.
Can a little water affect the speed and performance of the phone? If the phone still turns on, does that mean that the water didn't affect the phone? Does that mean that the phone will still run at optimum performance?

if there is no PHYSICAL SIGN of water damage (moisture in screen, black or white screen, buttons dont work, funky noises, bad speaker or receiver, leaking battery, magically reboots itself, wont power on or off, freezes, etc)... then you should be ok...
what most people DO NOT REALIZE is that simple sweat from your ears on a hot day or working out with your phone on a tredmill or having the phone in the bathroom during a hot shower, or taking a visit to a waterfall or .... OR... get this... a simple HOT and HUMID day... can make the LDI sticker turn pink.... its that sensative! Any water moisture in the air will make that sucker turn pink...
based on your statement, it look like you have moisture issues.. LOL.... your internals are ok... its just your sticker got moist.. thats all.... your still get great performance... but if you get any of the symtoms above, then you may have some sort of water damage... until then, i think youll be peachy!

The main problem you could of had with the water is the risk of it short circuiting but it can only short circuit if their is electric going through it while the water is there so it sounds like the water dried up before you turned it back on. It might not affect the phone right now but it could have affected the battery life or how long the phone will last so you will have to wait a few months before you can assess what damage it has done.
