Hard plastic or soft silicone phone case?I recently bought a new phone, a HTC Trophy, and I want to protect it with a good case. Which is more protective - a soft or a hard case?

Soft has a less impact if it drops, from the research I've done. I'm buying a silicone case for my accident prone brother and a hard case for myself since I'm pretty careful with my phone.
