Custom charges on US mobile phones to UK (I'm interested in Mytouch 4G)?Hi all ^^
I find myself very interested in the latest T-mobile MyTouch 4G as it comes with Froyo out of the box and its design is sleek. The only problem is that it is not available in the UK. To my best knowledge, I'm not aware of its HTC equivalent either. Therefore, I'm thinking of buying this unlocked from US eBayer. Could anyone please share their experience buying mobile phones from the US? (link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280592845942&rvr_id=172418741194&mfe=sidebar) I heard that the custom charge is quite high, probably at 5% of the product price. In this particular case, the unlocked MyTouch 4G is of the price $ 549 + $ 38 = $ 587. Please shed some light on whether this price is reasonable and if possible, give me approximate custom charges incurred from my purchase.
Your advice and comment will be very appreciated as this is my first time to buy expensive item from the US.
Thank you very much for your time in advance :D
Kind regards,
The Stig
That price is quite reasonable. It's a GSM phone so it will work well in the UK as well.
Buying from the US is a good idea, as they usually have good reputable resellers (Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and Japan are also good places to buy from).
