I have been very skeptical about the 18V mod but recently performed it just for the hell of it. It turned out that this very simple modification is pretty good. What's more, it only took me 7 minutes of soldering and is completely reversible. Only cost me £5 total (battery clip + a couple 9V batteries) I play this clip using the neck pickup which is an EMG SA (yes, it's a single coil). I would like to apologise for the sub-par sound quality, I lost my video camera and being a student, I cannot afford to buy a new one, good thing X-mas is coming :D This was recorded using my ageing Nokia N70 lol. The phone's mic seem to clip or distort at times or maybe I was playing too loud :P
