I need to know what kind of phone to get..??

AT&T only have the smartphones that have that QWERTY key board so I was wondering can I buy a phone from a different place, like just any phone from for instance Best Buy, and still use my SIM card for it?
If so which phones that have the QWERTY keyboard can I do that with?

these are a few phones that i like so can you tell me if they would work with my current SIM card.

I was thinking about getting the Pantech Duo.

is it any good?

ive been reading lots of reviews but you never know if they are people that actually work for AT&T and just want to promote something.

As much as I love my Pantech Duo I would say get the Blackjack II, if you want a PDA or the SE W580i if you want a slider with no PDA..

I have a Pantech Duo and there are MANY cons about it..

I am not a heavy texter or talker, maybe about 20 texts a day and talk about 30 mins a day.. The battery on the phone WILL NOT last thru one full day.. I have a complete charge on it at 6am and many times by 7pm the battery is fixing to die on it..

The camera is REALLY bad on it..

I have to say WHAT WAS THAT AGAIN about 10 times in a conversation.

Instant messenger is REALLY slow; it will take a few mins. between messages to get and send them, plus takes a LONG time to sign in..

My daughter has this same phone.. I had to buy her a 2nd battery for her so she can make it thru a full day.. I've looked into an extended battery, like my sons blackjack, but they don't make one.. She is counting down the days to upgrade again, and she only had it for a few months now..

She wanted for the full key board and after about 3 days she stopped using it.. She said the 9 key (T9) is faster and easier.. I however use the keyboard allot, but catch myself using the 9 key when in a hurry or busy (while driving, shopping, ect.. )

I use my phone for PDA part, so therefore I like it better then she does, but I sit at a computer all day, so my phone stays on the charger all day..
