i am living with my friends. we r 4 people. we have taken bsnl broadband nokia 1600 residential router WiFi. one of mine friend use the torrent z and speed decreases. so i want a solution to block the torrent so that no one can download the movie from the site. please tell me how to block that torrent from the network WiFi so that no one can download the movies.
please tell immediately.

You'd need to find out what torrent client he's using, then find what ports it uses, then block those ports on the router.

Seriously, you can't just "block" torrent, as the torrent network is actually designed to resist such actions. Better talk to your friend/housemate to stop downloading.

You do not have the right resources to block it (firewall, internet gateway, etc which most offices have).
For a simple design and hardware that you are currently using, realistic option would be to speak to the person and educate them on how what they are doing is harming your system performance.
Just telling them no wont help....help explain it to them...whyyyy
