n79 is a bit older but has most needed facilities... 5800 is newer and touch. both are 3g, have gprs, wifi... n79 has 5 mp camera... 5800 3.2 mp... 5800 is a xpress music fone so the music settings it will be better. which is the better choice?

I would advice you Nokia 5800 as it has many games, applications, themes, wallpapers with it. You will find hard to find such things for Nokia N79. As the technology is changing, my advice go with the latest technology.
I agree that 5MP camera can take far better pictures and record better quality of videos but 3.2 MP camera's pictures are also good. (My experience)

Look, both fones r great......if u want bigger screen, go for 5800. But 5800 is really thick for keeping it in pocket!.....so if u want some nyc light stuff....go for n79!..........both have symbian S60 operating systems with edition differences. Apps are available for both of them....in plenty! Remember, 5800 has a resistive touch, means u have to use ur nail, or a stylus (basically non conductive), which is completely different from iphone's touch which is capacitive. It works through fingers (conductive). If u've used one u might noe the difference!
